Project Overview
Amy The House of Blackout focuses on atmosphere, pacing, and minimal mechanics to create an immersive experience where light itself becomes the primary reward, navigation tool, and narrative device.
Each room becomes a small puzzle environment where locating switches, power sources, or hidden mechanisms slowly brings fragments of the house back to life.
You play as a teenage character who must restore the power back.
Gameplay loop
Exploration through environmental cues.
Using home interiors for making the light and electricity management make sense.
Advancing to new rooms with new challenges.
Uncovering narrative through progression in the game
Mechanics used
All animations in the game are carried out by the C# script and animator for the following mechanics:
Character control, pick ups and storage, flashlight, doors and locks, switches, HUD & UI.
Goal
The game’s goal is simple:
you need to bring light back to a house that’s been shrouded in darkness. But there’s a catch
-it’s not as easy as flicking a switch!
